How did complementary medicine come into my life?
I had heard a number of stories about friends or friends of friends who had visited kinesiologists but no-one could quite explain it to me. I was curious. A short time later, a few streets from where I lived, I would often walk past a building with a 'Kinesiology' banner out the front. I was curious. Curiosity and the generosity of a friend who had heard me pondering over kinesiology more than a few times, led me to attend an information weekend at the Australian College of Complementary Medicine (ACCM). I was hooked! As a health care modality and particularly as a preventative medicine, kinesiology simply made sense to me.
In practice, I see the application and effectiveness of kinesiology grow and grow so I remain curious and am also keen to start accumulating clinical research in this complementary field.
Since qualifying as a kinesiologist, personal interest and professional development studies have added the modalities of reiki, sound healing and intuitive meditation to my practice. I now blend elements of each as required or requested by clients.
So, thank goodness I was a walker (kinesiology does mean 'movement') and had an intuitive friend who also felt that this field was calling me!

Why ebb&flow?
Health comes and goes. Energy levels increase and decrease. Emotions fluctuate. This is normal - life is a seasonal roller coaster! Our bodies are built to adapt to fluctuations and in many cases, can heal themselves if allowed time to process changes and return regularly to a state of balance (homeostasis). However, it is when we remain stuck in a physical or emotional ebb or flow for too long that a return to balance becomes hindered, our bodies tire of being in that state of imbalance and we get to the point where we feel 'something has got to give'.
ebb&flow is about tuning in to, understanding and keeping in balance your own, healthy rhythm.
