"Everything that appears in the physical realm is always connected with energy flow at the invisible level." - Nan Lu. Such is the template of the Five Element theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the 5 being: Fire-Earth-Metal-Water-Wood. Each element is associated with certain seasons, organs, muscles, physiological processes, time of day, colour, taste, an innate virtue/emotion and block to that virtue and several more.
For obvious reasons, today I'm spotlighting WINTER, which is just one of the associations of the WATER element. The element is the body fluid store and governs the vital pairing of Kidney and Bladder meridians (energy systems). Water's innate virtue is WISDOM and block, FEAR. Imbalance in the Water element can naturally therefore place stress on the adrenals.
It is important in Winter to rest; slow down; hibernate; conserve energy; seek calm/yin exercises like yoga, swimming, or walking; eat hearty warm foods - hold on a minute, these are things we innately want to do during Winter ...and in that we can see the 'invisible level' Nan Lu refers to!
So rug up and rest up this season. Rubbing the ears or balls of the feet may also help! Your Water element qi will thank you💦🙏🏻TCM is a pivotal tool in kinesiology #kinesiology#TCM#energyhealing#balance#health#preventativemedicine
