It’s an oldie but a goodie!  I remember seeing this one while studying kinesiology and realising how perfectly it summed up the efficacy of the modality : the greatest obstacles on the path from where you are to where you wish to be at any given time are most often not a lack of time or ability or resources or motivation but old belief systems and patterns of behaviour that no longer fit with your goals, that are taking up room where you would otherwise allow positive change to move in.

What can clear your path and lighten your load is a change in thinking.

What can facilitate a change in thinking, is kinesiology : through assessing your physical function, you can access what internal messages are really going on below the surface and understand how your thoughts, conscious or not, are affecting your movement through life in every sense.

If you want to THROW, GROW and FLOW, why not GIVE KINESI’ A GO? I’m at
@harmoniahealth every Friday and Saturdays by request🌟🦋breathe. listen. be well.

Time for us to check on our Yi Qi Li!  WT?

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that Yi (the mind) leads Qi (life energy) which creates Li (strength/flexibility of body) : basically, through directing the mind we move our energy and in turn, create physical strength ...cycling through ‘the three’ towards a balanced wholeness.

So, just as activity and strength are vital, meditation is just so : mindfulness retrains the mind to, in between wanderings, regain focus on what we are trying to achieve.  Power of mind leads to a powerful and healthier body because Yi is our control centre and any Qi begins from this mental process before we can be energised and feel a fortified Li that can spark action!

If you feel stuck in your cycle towards balanced wholeness, TCM is a pivotal building block of kinesiology and can check ‘the three’ for blockages.  Balanced Yi Qi Li is🔑!🙏🏻☀️breathe. listen. be well.

Feel you're losing balance between meeting your needs and those of others?  Saying 'yes' to everything while feeling yourself sinking ...then saying, 'yes' again?  Have fatigue and irritability become a gnawing stress, eating away at your energy levels, patience and quality of life?

Wisdom for Wellness FREE workshops at @harmoniahealth kick off this SAT 19TH MAY with the inaugural session focusing on NURTURING the NURTURER. Sunita of @_mindfulmumma_and I are so looking forward to chatting with our community about the tricky balance between giving and receiving care. Whether you are caring for family - bubs, children, partners, aging parents - or friends or neighbours in need either personally or in a work capacity, there are tips and tricks for nurturing your own energy upkeep - of course, we’ll also offer some vital relaxation and healing time.

This workshop will focus on something many of us undertake every day and which can zap our zest if not understood and managed well ...nurturing and caring for others.  In examining this, we will of course need to consider the primary responsibility of nurturing and caring for ourselves, as carers.

An informative and experiential session aimed at equipping carers with tips and tools for keeping their own cups full enough to pour loving energy into others, happily and healthily.  Sunita and I will blend expertise from our modalities to assist you with:
  • giving to others from a place of fullness whilst avoiding resentment and, most importantly, honouring your integrity
  • easy, everyday energy boosters – from ayurveda to acupressure points, nutrition to flower essences and setting intentions to maintain healthy boundaries
  • the importance of ceremony designed by you, that will recharge and retain connection with your needs in the midst of duty to others
  • recognising and accepting your limits to giving as well as your need for receiving

The workshop will close with a nurturing guided chakra meditation with sound healing.

Sessions are free but places are limited so it’s a good idea to book a spot via the Facebook event page.

We welcome you to wellness and hope to have your participation and input as we build our ongoing workshop series🙏🏻breathe. listen. be well.

“Yi, the legendary master archer can teach you how to shoot, but he cannot make you hit the bull’s-eye” ...”In the same vein, the essential details of the art of medicine cannot be fully transmitted through the medium of language; they can be expressed through the rationale of numbers, but they cannot be fully understood by this rationale alone.” ...”When faced with the unlimited potential of life’s changes, therefore, one must ultimately rely on the truth that flows from one’s own heart rather than on the rigid adherence to orthodox principles - otherwise loss will be certain.” from Fang Xiaoru (Ming Dynasty) ‘The Physician in Touch with the Source’ [excerpt from Lonny Jarrett, ‘The Clinical Practice of Chinese Medicine’]

Is it our physical body that houses and gives life to our heart and spirit? Or is it our heart and spirit that give direction, form and condition to our physical state?  How does the way we think about our health and wellbeing affect our health and wellbeing?

Perhaps thinking differently is enough sometimes to find answers and feel whole and well - and not just as a patient or client - as a health practitioner, my heart is as curious as my head; I feel compelled to gather knowledge not from one book but from many, and not just from books but also from looking, listening, from understanding energy and vibration, to see my clients as physical, emotional and spiritual beings and therefore, to look for solutions for them from many health angles.📚💓💭breathe.  listen.  be well.

Reading is always time well spent, seeking and absorbing diverse perspectives and philosophies through which to better understand and heal ourselves and each other.

“...but it’s time to look not just outside to what we can do outside but to inside and how we can look to improve ourselves not just by reading ...but also by looking at how we’re disposed to relate to other people and to react in the world.” Extract from 'Hiding in Unnatural Happiness' by Devamrita Swami

Remember to look up, out, around as well as within to get and give to the real human story.  A great way to understand and improve your connection with self and others is through KINESIOLOGY : discover how your mind, body and soul ebbs and flows, endlessly seeking a return to equilibrium and how kinesiology can assist with blockages in this cycle that negatively impact function or behaviour.

For example, it’s unhealthy and unrealistic to seek or expect constant happiness just as it is super healthy to recognise and release the need for false happiness through unsustainable endeavours that only serve to muddy your natural, balanced state.

If you need some positive impact on function and behaviour, kinesiology encompasses the relationship between both📚🙏🏻☀️breathe. listen. be well.

We hope you will join us to share questions and answers, community connection and improved wellbeing🙏🏻🤝💕breathe. listen. be well. #kinesiology #holistic #wellness#adifferentapproachtohealth#mindbodysoul #nurture #balance#energymedicine #anatomyandphysiology#traditionalchinesemedicine #chakra #reiki#southmelbourne #portmelbourne #stkilda#melbourne #harmoniahealth#preventativemedicine

Happy Easter break everyone • whatever your spiritual ideas, take this time to be like the bunny and hop about on the earth, that is, to GET GROUNDED! Apart from possibly finding a choccie egg or two, grounding into Mother Earth helps balance the primal energies of our root chakra : the force that engenders us with a sense of safety, security, belonging, human connection and rootedness even when our life experience can bring about feelings of indecision, overwhelm or disconnection.
Grounding helps us to pull whizzing thoughts or feelings down into the physical body and the physicality of the earth, to get solid and real. from this stable base, we can then focus clearly on sorting thoughts and feelings into helpful or hindering = RETURN to BALANCE.
It also allows us to soak up some negative ions [they’re actually the positive ones found in nature!] to try and balance the overflow of less healthy positive ions most prevalent in busy city lifestyles and households [think of all the electrical activity in these environments ...yikes!] = RETURN to BALANCE.
So, if it’s been a while since you’ve actually felt the grass or rocks or sand or sea water or tree bark, you’re due for some of that solid and trustworthy love this weekend - a garden egg hunt is the perfect opportunity! If heading outdoors isn’t always possible, try a sea salt bath; seek out crystals of magnetite, black tourmaline black onyx or obsidian to have at home or hold/rub the first point on your Kidney meridian - these 'K1's are effective grounding points found at the deepest indent in the ball of your foot when toes are curled over.  Hold on both feet for 1-2 minutes, using either thumbs or first two fingers together.  No wonder it feels so good to be barefoot on the ground!
@harmoniahealth is closed until Tue morning but I am contactable over the weekend for you to get your bookings in for next Friday or Saturday because kinesiology is all about the many ways we can maintain homeostasis = RETURN to BALANCE •• breathe. listen. be well. 🙏🏻⭐️🐰🥚🌾 #homeostasis #kinesiology #holistichealth#wellness #energyhealing #grounded #balance #mothernature #adifferentapproachtohealth #community #physiology #goodvibes #compassion #traditionalchinesemedicine #meridian #acupressure #southmelbourne #portmelbourne #stkilda #melbourne

My focus is usually on cycling through imbalances of your physical, emotional, biochemical, etheric or other bodies towards conscious understanding and equilibrium.
Today, I’m shifting focus to ask about the health of the environments in which you regularly immerse yourself • the wardrobe, desk, shed, new home or work space may be (repeatedly) physically decluttered : but what about blowing the unseen cobwebs out of those spaces? The ones you can ‘kind of’ feel or that are making you feel ‘kind of’ unwell?
Energetically lightening or clearing out an important space in which you spend a lot of your time may open up a whole new, healthier world of positive vibes.
My tailored SPACE CLEARING packages can lift energetic heaviness by addressing electrical over activity, ion imbalances or dull vibes through tools such as sound, smudging, reiki, crystal gridding, flower essence infused sprays, greenery and a little feng shui. ENERGETIC DECLUTTERING = aligning your intentions for an area with the energy you wish to welcome and encourage within it.
Ensure your home, room, office or studio feels simpatico with you, your family, visitors or colleagues, encouraging maximum health and comfort for all whilst contributing to your overall wellbeing.  Contact me to

At the ebb and flow of the seasons, it is time again to visit the Five Element theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the 5 being: Fire-Earth-Metal-Water-Wood. Each element is associated with certain seasons, organs, muscles, physiological processes, time of day, colour, taste, an innate virtue/emotion and block to that virtue and several more.
Although our warmest season is waning, today I'm belatedly spotlighting SUMMER, just one of the associations of the FIRE element and suitably depicted by the color, red. Fire governs integration-assimilation-circulation-protection and Summer brings a time of high energy, heat, growth, light, abundance, manifestation of Spring cultivating and the consciousness of one’s being.
Fire houses four meridians (energy systems) : Heart-Small Intestine-Pericardium-Triple Heater (Sanjiao) and rules all aspects of spirit : heart-mind-spirit. The innate virtue of Fire is PROPRIETY (doing the right thing/right time) and the block, HOLDING ONTO JOY or SADNESS.
Imbalance in this element can see sleep disturbance, skin eruptions, palpitations, restless energy/agitation, inappropriate laughter, nervousness or apathy. A balanced Fire element brings improved mood, a healthy heart and calm spirit through us tending to our inner fire - nurturing relationships, releasing grudges, being outgoing in enjoying Summer’s bounty - it brings enthusiasm for life. Summer naturally encourages us into this time for joy through holidays and increased outdoor socialisation.
Activate Fire’s shen (spirit/soul) through waking earlier/retiring later and resting in between (say yes t’ siesta!), staying hydrated, eating cool, raw foods (mix bitter flavors of Summer greens with some pungent ones to balance perspiration) and keeping even-tempered as anger can exacerbate heat. Basically, for what Summer days we have left, keep your cool to keep cool and vice versa - your Fire element qi will thank you. Have you recognised any of these characteristics over your Summer?🔥☀️🙏🏻TCM is a pivotal tool in kinesiology • breathe. listen. be well.
